Narnia, Is it a children's story for Christ?

I have seen the previews and I am excited to see this movie. This morning on WGNR (christian radio station) I heard them talking about it and giving away passes to the movie and I wasn't sure of the connection. I found this article and now I understand. Now I am even more excited just so I can form my own opionion.

I am glad I am not the only adult excited. When we saw the ad I was accused of being worse than the kids. LOL

Carver, I agree that the article refernces to the beforementioned movies are stretching it a bit... alot of bit...but I kind of understood that they were trying to find the good in these types of movies that could help young people (or older for that matter) see the things of sacrifice, etc. Probably due to being under fire with the controversy that Narnia has been experiencing. Just trying to make a point about other "Big time" movies. Just looking for justification. I certainly respect from your previous posts your position with regards to christianity. It is unfortunate that some "churches" get caught up in the "RELIGION" I believe we need to be true to God and I respect that all people of all faiths have a higher power...they may call them by another name...but a person has to hold true to what is in their hearts. Too many times one or many will get caught up in the "cause" and forget what it really is all about. Anger sets in when all doesn't believe or behave in the way they or the group deems fitting...and then where does the unconditional love go? Vicious circle that only comes back to bite them somewhere in their future. Blah blah blah. way off what you were pointing out but to bring it around to full circle...thank you for your perspective even though I overlooked some of the silliness the point was more of things to think about and looking for the good in "hollywood". May the Force be with you! LOL

Carver, you run me in circles sometimes man. You have a lot more reading and teachings under your belt than I but here goes with my opinions...
The old testament---confusing, can't say that I understand why and how it all went down the way it did...idea... Father God...Creator and rule maker..and the Discipliniarian..he laid out the law and expected it to be followed..
adam and eve didn't, consequences to learn by, it goes on and on with the idolotry, sexual misfits, etc. Destroying of cities consequences of not following his commandments. The plaques...the people felt they had more power so he had to show them otherwise. I am sure he toiled with what he had to do. Kind of like a parant who says "one more time and you will get a spanking". I always hated that one more time, but you have to follow thru...the flood, Him saving the animals and Noahs family...the promise to never destroy the earth again...Jesus, his son walking here on earth, the crucifiction, the resurrection...this was his way of giving us Free will so that he didn't have to destroy nations and cities. Lucifer was his Angel and even he wanted to reign...we know what he's about now..the fight of Good Vs. Evil....I often say that all the pieces to the puzzle must not be there...King James Version of what is written...interpretted and modified...God is great about answering the confusion though.

my mentioning of respecting All the faiths and higher power still refers to God...native American Father God, or Grandfather (being of native blood I follow a lot of the old native ways--my skin may be white, but my heart is red)God has many names and I think he deal with his people in various different ways. I respect that each individual has a choice....I don't always agree with their choices, but I am not the Judge..I am a mere servant..I can pray for them....
The through me part had to come later..Jesus came later...our savior, God gave him to us so that through him, acknowledging that his blood cleanses us from our sins..we can connect with the Father..."I am" is a very profound statement..and if Christ and the Holy Spirit reside within you..saying "I am" enpoweres one's own soul! (ooohweee i have chills)

I agree and do not know too many around me that understand the way I feel. We are all divine and yes that was the fall...forgetting that...this life is a test, a preparation for the afterlife God has for us....and the mourning at a loved one's funeral to some is just as you said "the joy of the soul knowing that the loved one is making the journey to the Father!"
well I am rambling and could go all over the grid and back but times up and I have to get some other work done. Forgive the shortness and thank you for your perspective and wishes for the Holdidays. May you and yours be blessed with His love!
