Do you take the time to observe?

I am naturally a people watcher. For some strange reason and for as long as I can remember, whether I am in line or seated at a restaurant, I am like a sponge. Fully aware of numerous things, conversations, etc around me. I have to really stop and focus to not be pulled in all of the different places. This time of year everyone's agenda's are exceptionally full. I do most of my gift buying on-line or throughout the year when sales are available. And then of course there is Joann Fabrics which gets a lot of my time for Christmas gifts. I really enjoy this time of searching for something special for the individual I am gifting. I have noticed so many things from completely frazzled mothers with uncooperative children to nasty I don't want or shouldn't be hear..To friends laughing or old acquaintances talking with one another in the aisle ways. I am sure you all know what I am speaking about. My Fiance' seems to think it is kind of unique that I observe so much and just be patient with others etc. I often wonder if there are others out there that continually process in their minds thoughts of what they are observing. I have been asking the Lord for strength quite a lot here lately. I find my prayer time ends up with Lord please help me, please let me....Etc. This morning I decided that I don't always have to ask. The Lord just blesses me with patience, kindness, love, strength, guidance, front row parking spots (LOL). So I am focusing on those faces I see out and about. When I notice distress, fear, anger in others I am saying a simple prayer for this stranger. Let God bestow them with peace. The feeling that comes over me and through me is....I can't put it into words....But blessed and remarkable come to mind. I have been slipping out at lunch time running errands and picking up this and that and have been doing the forementioned. This morning I ran across this article that really blessed me and has me looking and searching so much more.
I hope you all take the time to read it and it equally blesses you! Enjoy your day and everything in it....Good and Bad...(the bad is a lot easier when you try to find the beauty of it)

Kim ~ Thanks for this post. As you can see by my little rantings recently on the topic of "greeting cards" and "soldiers" that I needed to see a little more good in people and a lot less bad.

And your post has me thinking that perhaps I should pray that people be able to take me better than for me to take people better. After all, it shouldn't always be about ME! *smiles*

Hugs
Gayla

Hey GW - good to see you bouncin' round here too!

Hope you make it to Narnia with the nephews! Nothing can replace the looks on the kids faces when watching a movie of this caliber.

Or Kim's for that matter - I was there when she saw the last Harry Potter :)

Carver...moving isn't it!!! I like your saying "It's all God...I use the It's all good alot to bring me up and out of a bad situation...yours is better. thanks

Gayla...I was also disturbed by the card..pretty much out-raged. I would love to interrogate the teacher. As far as my movie-going personality...you should have seen me in Jurassic Park...I get made fun off all the time because I get into movies so deeply. I have been told I am sometimes as entertaining as the movie. LOL
