Hooter girl hair stylist-YUK

This morning I was so disgusted. Somewhere in Indianapolis IN, someone has opened a hair salon that has the "Hooter style". Now guys can go get their hair cut and receive a neck and shoulder massage by girls wearing very little. Just goes to show you what women subject themselves to in order to make a little $$$$. I understand people have to make a living and society guarantees us that "sex" sales. I just wish society was more hip on morality! God help this world!

Wealth and the lottery

How many of you were caught in conversations that started with "If I win the lottery, I would...."? Well I know I was dreaming of traveling and seeing all of the places on my list and then some. The first thing I said was "It would be nice to see all of those near and dear to me become debt free and to be able to enjoy all that life offers." After saying that I realized that alot of people are held bondage by their finances, or lack thereof. Life has a lot of joys that we pass up because we are stuck in the circumstances. I have always said I live a Rich life. God has always held true to his promises. Today I encourage you to take your eyes off the problem and let it go. Faith knows no boundaries!

I stumbled upon Brook Noels definition of Wealth and thought I would pass it along. I know this won't get your bills paid and it won't keep us from robbing Peter to pay Paul, but it might make the trial a little easier. This month I am praying for financial relief to those who need it. (myself included) Won't you join me?

W - Working with passion and commitment on something
you love

E - Esteem in your worth, purpose and value

A - An attitude that keeps a smile on your face, and the
face of others

L - Love for those around you and for yourself

T - Time to engage in your life priorities

H - A heart big enough to give and receive freely

A Womans Poem

A Woman's Poem

He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.

Then I turned around and smacked him..

Like his Mother used to do.

Teenage adventures and Hot Rod Joyrides

Ok I give in.  I’ll write a little something about childhood shanigans.  Gayla has let a little cat sneak out the top of a bag!  The Corvette was ORANGE and very SWEET!

My father, who worked for Delco Remy and also owned is own pre-owned car lot involved me, the only child, it all aspects of the car business.  After getting my license I was in a different car every week until I had saved up enough money to purchase MY own car with MY own hard earned money.  One thing about my parents was they taught me the value of a dollar.  The value that most teens have no concept about, the value that means rolling up your sleeves, getting dirty, and sometimes even working up a sweat!  That was usually out at Gayla’s house.  The Farm.  Putting up hay, working out with Auntie in the hog houses, etc.

Anyway on one particular occasion we were feeling a little frisky.  I don’t know if you have seen that movie by Disney called “Holes” (good one by the way) well there was this juvenile nicknamed “twitch” Why?  Because fast cars were tempting and got him all revved up, therefore twitching with excitement he just had to take a joyride!

Gayla and I were feeling the twitch.  We both very carefully evaluated the position of the car, the steering wheel, the radio station, all the things we could possibly screw up that would let the Cat completely out its bag.  Feeling confident that we had the world conquered and were ten feet tall (like every teen I have ever known) we so anxiously got the keys, climbed in, (you know we made several trips to the mirror to make sure we were lookin’ good) started the engine.   I have goose bumps from remembering.  This car was just too sweet!  (79 Corvette and tangerine orange.  B E Aay utiful)

We ventured out of the long driveway checking the time before Mom and Dad were back.  “Cruisin in the country.”  That’s where we lived.  Funny now, outside of our neighbors who had already seen us in the car, farmers in the fields that knew mom and dad, there was not anyone to really impress, but we were just too cool!

We put everything back just as it was!  No mistakes.  I cannot remember exactly what we were doing when mom and dad came home but whatever it was I am so sure it was looking like we had been good little angels that we were and just hangin out.  WRONG!

My father knew right away.  We didn’t think about the fact that the motor generates heat.  And there is a specific smell to the exhaust of a “sports car”.   Who would have known?

That wasn’t the only time I ever snuck the Hot Rods dad would bring home from the sale out for joyrides, and certainly not the last tires squealed and most certainly not the last “Busted by Dad”.

By the way….Our “Dream Cars” that we were insistent on making sure we had custom made for ourselves….Can you guess?….the model is all so typical of a teenagers dream car during that time, however what was so unique was the colors we so desired!

I’ll give you a clue…1979 Pontiac Trans Am…you know the one’s with the big firebird emblem on the hood.  (that car stills excites me) OK OK I will tell you the colors…Are you ready for this?  Blue with Baby blue emblem and Blue with Pink emblem, or was it Lavender and Pink?….Crazy teenage fantasies.

I did own one of these precious cars.  It was Blue and it had a light blue emblem.  It also had a 400 motor in it and after winning several races with my teen guy friends I sold it to one that I beat and made a few bucks.  Bought a mustang then!  The advantages of working for my Dad!  I have enjoyed sharing this one with you.

Family Kudos

I was an only child and lived about 7 miles down the road from my cuz who lived on a farm! I spent all the time I could there. She is more like a sister than a cousin.

I am so proud of her and her tenacity to stick to it! She has been an inspiration to me on more than one occasion. She is having so much fun! (I am almost envious).

Check out her latest endeavors! Have fun reading here!

In a nutshell-society created them

I would like to share this article.

Here lately I find myself skipping over the "Katrina aftermath" and "who's fault is it" research, but this one I read and it goes in line with what I think.

the author of this article puts some interesting info into the "discovered" truths of public people. Society has put so much pressure on these people that I think their jobs rule their entire lives. Heaven forbid they just be able to be themselves. No matter what a person does, some one somewhere will put a negative spin on it that will influence certain people...Somewhere else in the world will put a more accurate spin on it, but who is to know the real truth. Read the article I think you will like it.

PS....another spin on the whole "Bush was playing a guitar during the Hurricane" maybe he was praying for the people being affected by the NATURAL disaster...maybe not, but good example of how one pic can have many interpretations.

Hopefully during all of this email and who dropped the ball research, nothing else of great importance falls through the cracks because of their "witch hunt" investigation. Please don't misconstrue the idea that I do not believe people in high public positions should be held accountable for their actions....all people should be held accountable, but in this instance let's just see what we can do to move on and fix the problem at hand.
